Plik plak Pio

Text and illustrations by Juliette Farges

Sometimes, Pio spends his days in the rain. Raindrops seep in everywhere around him: into his breakfast bowl, through the stitches of his knitted sweaters, and even onto his bed. He feels very small. What to do with all this water? Sometimes he uses it to grow flowers, to go fishing, or to paint with watercolors. And thanks to the people who love him, he spends more and more sunny days.

Through a simple weather metaphor, this story uses a naive and vivid style to describe the feelings that a child sometimes can’t put into words. Sadness, loneliness, or simply a bad day—these emotions can overflow and flood our lives when we haven’t learned how to manage them.

A poetic book that helps us learn, little by little, to tame the “rain” and make room for joyful moments.
