The Ons people live on the edge of a lagoon. Together, they’ve built their home, where they live peacefully, side by side. But a multitude of new buildings are springing up all along the lagoon’s edge. The Ons need to find a new home. They keep wandering until they discover the perfect spot. Without further delay, construction begins. But someone is hiding and watching them… Cam the chameleon lives here. Taken aback, she desperately tries to come up with a way to drive them out.

Jeanne Verlhac is a young French illustrator based in Brittany in northern Finistère. She studied illustration at the École Estienne in Paris and then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, graduating in 2023. She enjoys creating playful, colourful and humorous works, often inspired by pop culture. She has also worked as a bookseller and participates in exhibitions and collective works. Abi jette l'éponge (2024, Versant Sud Jeunesse) is her first book. She has published Aurore se lève, created for the GwinZegal Art Centre, and collaborated with Georges magazine.
