Marina Philippart
Marina Philippart is a Belgian author and illustrator. After a long trip to New Zealand, she studied painting at La Cambre, where she also attended workshops in engraving, bookbinding and illustration. Alongside her art studies, she took courses in anthropology at the ULB and Japanese language classes, which had a particular influence on her work. After meeting Kitty Crowther and having children of her own, writing and illustrating children’s books became a natural choice. Passionate about children’s artistic creation, she regularly gives art workshops in schools and various cultural venues in Belgium and France.
Her first children’s book, Sorcière et Chanoir, was published in November 2022 by Le Diplodocus. In 2023, this book won the Jérôme Main Prize at the Cherbourg-Octeville Children’s Book and Comic Book Festival. She produced two board books, 1, 2, 3, miam ! in 2024 for Albin Michel and Plic-ploc in the same year for Bayard. Her book Dévacance colère was published by MeMo in 2024. Notre ami Lépi was published by the same publisher in 2025.
